Sad but very accurate summary of what’s happening in Malaysia. The Agongs have a duty to the rakyat now that surpasses the Parliament that should be suspended for a year or two and the parties need to submit applications for qualified candidates for the positions. This would be a start.

i am from the 80s and i have watch how the country grew through segregation and divide. how the government tried to divide us through race, religion, education and whatever that can be used to create a divide. we have autocratic leaders which took it upon themselves to remain in power long after their term is over that led to the current state of things. it is most unfortunate that after almost 7 decades that we as a nation as Malaysians have not managed to reform our government and its policies. to put it into perspective the racial divide has created a void in our identity as Malaysians and the sense of patriotism is almost non existent among malaysians. we might go for bersih rally and all (i personally didn’t) but make no mistake about this, if we were in Ukraine shoes today ain’t no chinese or indian will be willing to take up arms and defend the country. this is not because we do not love our country but because of the double standards impose onto us as second class citizens. i know from experience that in a family there will always be favoritism from parents to their children, but i think as a parent you can’t be more wrong then to make it so obvious because it will make the others feel left out or abandoned. in all honesty i don’t blame my malay friends for having special privileges or advantages because it was given to them not taken. with that being said if malaysia is to be our motherland then she must recognize us as her sons and daughters, not stepsons and step daughter. if we want to build a nation right start by rebuilding its values in the next generation. i shit you not but KITAJAGAKITA means we are tired and we think the government is hopeless.

All I can say is that some of the malays over the years indocrinated by the religious fanatic, racist and corrupted politicians had lost their conscience. The minorities were marginalized and discriminated while the networked majority malay race in power were enriched. This country is already on the path of a failed state.

Incompetence, corruption and a lack of basic morals caused by a grotesquely weak education system is so endemic it is impossible for Malaysia is recover. The bloated civil service filled with incompetent Malay employees who can’t tell the difference between right and wrong administer the country corruptly without conscience. A Malay Muslim civil service which is bigoted and racists led incompetent politicians which see nothing wrong with their behaviour.

The root cause was the author of the the Malay Dilemma, Mahathir and Anwar himself.

There is little hope for the country because the level of education and moral compass, particularly with the Malay Muslim majority, led by ignorant racist bigoted clerics, is so low it’s irretrievable. They can’t tell right from wrong that they sanction corruption.

Being a non Malay citizen in Malaysia is akin to being stateless. Thank god I got a passport to get out!

It is the system used to win the hearts of the villagers and the poor by giving out a small portion of what that has been stolen from the country or through corruption and the people will be happy and continue to support these thieves. The convicted are not jailed instead allowed to move about escorted. The only way out if possible is to look on a medium to long term; the next GE: out woth the old and bring in the young, and also more ladies too. MUDA and the new Malaysian party are good choices. The young must continue to educate their elders to change who they used to vote for previously and explain to these old folks the dangers if they continue the same thinking. There is not much time, but if we move together, time is still on our side.

Thanks Hanif and all others who responded. Malaysians are generally unaware of their true history.

A good write up of the turmoiled political situation which is going out of hand and the future looks very bleak for most Malaysians as the nation's economic standing is into a speedy tail spin with no solution in sight!
