The photograph of mini skirted women in Kabul was in fact taken in Iran and not Kabul. Its an old photo which is often circulated by those Western educated women who see female seduction of men as a necessity (I welcome that principle) which it is not in an Islamic non Western society.

Afghan women have been covered for centuries and nothing was said of it till the West decided that virtue shaming was the way to go whilst slut practices should become a virtue.

Mind you at one stage Lord McCaulay had tried to force the change of sarees and selwar kurtas in the sub continent into an almost loin cloth type of outfit for Indian women (that worn by lower caste and manual labourers amongst women during that time).

We thank Mr Kumar for his message although we do not agree with his odd perception of women who seek freedom. The picture has been corrected --Eds.
